Athough I'm not much a fan of Governor Rell, I must applaud her for finally being decisive about something!

Yeah, applaud her. For what? For running CT's economy into the ground while catering to her rich cronies? They are the only ones she's protecting. She hasn't changed much since her Brookfield days. Sure she doesn't want the taxes raised--for the RICH FOLKS. They never want to give their fair share as they drive in their Lexus up their circular driveways to their 20 room colonials. Now my paycheck has been cut and I have to take unpaid furlough days because of her mismanagement. And, no, I'm not one of the high paid state employees but one who falls on the lower side of the pay scale.

As for the calorie count bill, why is it so crucial that people need to eat at MacDonalds or Burger King? In todays economy meals at home make more sense and what you eat is totally in your control.
It appears that (once again) people do not want to assume responsibility for their own actions.
As for the other bills I do not have personal knowledge of them and cannot comment but the silly thing about calorie counts has been all over the news.
The media is rather pathetic in what it reports.

When she came into office there was a surplus. Interesting, no? But I guess everyone figured even Minnie Mouse would be better than that crook Rowland. I miss Ella Grasso more than ever. We'll never see the likes of her again. One of a kind.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a local paper that would give us info about the bills that was fair and balanced. Then we could have an informed opinion concerning the veto's.

But no, the News Times is more concerned about Newtown's garbage and cats.

Why cant we just have a flat tax? Then we wont have to hear this stupid class war debate.Everyone and I mean everyone pays the same percentage of whatever their income is.This way you are not punished for working 3 jobs and making a decent living.
