Area residents had mixed views as to what effect a U.S. Postal Service plan to shorten hours at rural post offices would have on them.

The two-day Wood County Spring Cleanup continues today from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Erickson All-Sports Facility off Camden Avenue in south Parkersburg.

A new trial date has been set in the case of a Belpre man accused of a 2010 murder of a Wood County woman.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Mid-Ohio Valley residents who settled a lawsuit will be eligible for medical monitoring programs after a science panel concluded a probable link exists between exposure to a chemical used by the DuPont plant in Washington, W.Va., and testicular and kidney cancers, attorneys for the residents said Monday.
