Roxann Wedegartner, a longtime player in Greenfield's municipal affairs, has announced that she will run for state representative seat in the 2nd Franklin District held by Christopher J. Donelan.

Greenfield Democrat Roxann D. Wedegartner made her bid for a Second Franklin District House seat official today, saying she has ''passion for public service, a great love of this region, and the determination, skills, and experience'' to offer.

After 55 years in public service, Ted Lewis of Wendell was speechless as he was recognized Friday as Franklin County's 27th Recorder Citizen of the Year.

The MBTA board of directors is scheduled to vote on a contract that would extend commuter rail service in Rhode Island to T.F. Green Airport in Warwick and South Kingstown.
