Smiley's has slowly gone down the sh***er since the late 80's. It certainly isn't what it used to be. This is what happens when you have METH ADDICTS running the joint.

I was a long term vender in the early 90's and Smileys market was good with really good management.(I miss Cletus). I concidered going back, but it is awful! It is dirty, empty and too expensive to rent there and the management is terrible. When I went to the office, he never smiled and reminded me of the creeepy characters in horror flicks. Also the old timers who were there when I was told me that the manager was a tyrant and if they weren't so established they would look for another site. When I was there I saw obvious burned cd's being sold. Where is Ben Campen and why is he not cleaning this up?

Smiley's in Macon allowed blatant boot-legging of CDs and DVDs. I’ve alerted an Atlanta agency that investigates these abuses and did see some improvement but that was a few years ago. I’m glad to see these copyright laws being enforced now. I'm not sure how much the manager of the flea market could be held accountable but the focus should not be on him, but on those who are breaking the law. If the manager is aware of the problem and allows criminals to utilize the market, then there is a problem.
