Gabriel Clay Johnson, 39, of 12 Circle St., Ware Shoals, was arrested Sunday and charged with assaulting an officer, breach of peace and damage to city property, less than $1,000 after aggressively resisting arrest by a Ware Shoals police officer.

Local police have visited Ware Shoals High School in the past few weeks, and while officers say the school's lack of a resource officer the last two years has resulted in an increased amount of crime, particularly fighting, on campus, school officials said it has just been an unusually bad few weeks.
