As usual, the pigs were out in the pen. One of the sows had farrowed early - before she could be brought indoors - and as Wanda and her husband Chuck tried to rescue the piglets from the rain-drenched field, the other hogs began carrying the babies to a puddle and drowning them.
Economy makes Camp Courage a hub of activity
About five miles out of town on County Road 7 NW, one would see the maroon sign that reads "Camp Courage." Behind that sign is 300 acres of land and many workers and counselors preparing for one of the camp's busiest summers ever.
