Townsend and Walland elementary schools will be closed Wednesday due to water pressure problems.

A wreck this morning on Coulter Bridge at the intersection of Old Walland Highway and Tuckaleechee Pike involving two vehicles has sent at least two people to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

The mother of a former Walland Elementary School student injured in a playground incident have filed a lawsuit against Blount County and the Blount County Board of Education, alleging the school's playground was not properly maintained and that the child was not adequately supervised.
