The man suspected of murdering a nine-year-old boy who was visiting Duplin County from New York is due in court today.

In North Carolina, it was supposed to be a carefree memorial day weekend for the Halley family.

Police in Wallace were called to the 400 block of Satchell Street just before 4 p.m. on Saturday to respond to the shooting death of a 9 year-old boy who died on the scene.

According to Captain Trey Giddeons with the Wallace Police Department, authorities are still working on a few leads.
