A Walkertown man is in surgery after being shot this morning by his cousin, according to deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

A man was killed and two others were injured Friday afternoon when two vehicles collided head-on in front of Mount Airy Middle School, authorities said.

Byron Ellis has resigned his position as town manager of Walnut Cove. Ellis was named interim manager in October after Homer Dearmin resigned to become manager of Pilot Mountain.

Keith Mabe went to Webster Brothers Hardware Co. Inc. in Walkertown on April 30 to buy tomato plants.

A Winston-Salem man was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on Saturday after he fired a handgun and injured a man walking in the 100 block of Cleveland Ave, Winston-Salem police said.

They found Ronald Aundra Ingram, 28, of 4750 Pine Hall Road in Walkertown, suffering a gunshot to the lower body, police said.
