An autopsy confirmed Friday that a body found Thursday in a wooded area east of Lawrence in rural Douglas County was that of Yelekal Alemu, a missing, 23-year-old Lawrence man.

Three people received minor injuries when a helicopter owned by an Ottawa company crashed Wednesday morning near Valley Falls, north of Topeka, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.

Jerry Logsdon had just downed some coffee and finished his morning routine at home Wednesday when he saw a helicopter spinning out of control above Valley Falls.

The Kansas Highway Patrol was called at 9:50 a.m. to the crash site, just east of a ballpark in the Jefferson County town.
