[Quote]After reading (about) the vehicles the county has, I believe the city of Las Cruces, the university and the school districts should do the same. I believe they have just as many vehicles, if not more. And I think it's time they should start cutting back.[Quote/]
An I be tired of dem using da vehicles to drop off da kids at school. Since when do NMSU be droppin' off kids at da elementary school in a pickup truck? |

1 How is it your livelihood? DO you pick up aluminum cans to buy meth? Are you sitting at the ramps begging for money? |

1 Well, he IS a windbag who likes to hear himself talk, so what do you want him to do? He's our own little local obama. |

1 ALL politicians are windbags. Every single member of the city council uses a paragraph where a sentence will suffice. Every question they ask is prefaced with a long explanation of why they're asking the question....just ask the effing question and shut the eff up! |

1 I suppose these same folks want Hutchinson to restore the Fountain Theater and give it to the Mesilla Valley Film Society now? |

1 Yes I know what your saying about the news, but also when accidents happen, traffic is backed up, where are the police directing traffic flow? Don't most cities have traffic control?(YES THEY DO) With these narrow streets and the increase of traffic it's a wonder there are not more accidents. Oh well nobody cares so why bother to comment. |

1 No kidding! The Sound-off comment was one more example of the "give me, give me, give me" mentality of society today. Everybody thinks that just because someone (or a business) has money they are obligated to give a portion of it ON DEMAND for whatever pet cause someone has. I think it was more than generous of Amador Bancshares to keep the building intact this long. They could have just as easily torn it down and sold it for a freak'n Sonic a long time ago. If people want it restored, then people should pony up the money to restore it. It's not right to expect someone else to pocket the expense for you. |

1 I agree completely! They waste so damn much time BSing and even campaigning, that everyone ends up waiting and nothing gets done. Even worse, I have been to CC meetings where the City Attorney (or his representative) had to jump up and run over to tell a Councilor to shut the eff up before they get the City sued after they start to suggest something blatantly illegal! I think it would be easier to do an illegal subdivision by selling lots through real estate contracts, and pave the streets to meet standards and give them to the city later, than it is to go through the whole harassment gridlock of Planning and CC. |
||||
Plus, they think nothing of violating the rights of property owners. If it's that bad, why hasn't Codes been harassing them? They come down my street and ding everyone for weeds, when there are maybe 5 or so 6" tall weeds in the rocks in their yards, yet there are 1' tall weeds growing in cracks in the street...or a vehicle which may or may not run, but is complete, with wheels and tires parked on your property. Yeah, my neighbor had a van that had not moved for quite a while, so Codes assumed they needed to get rid of it. |

1 That's now winning anything, that's running away with your yellow streak running down your backside. As for Vietnam, nothing was won or learned. We chickened out and left many, many people, who depended on us, to die. |

1 who list themselves as Liberal/Progressive (most of them) then work your way up. By the way give a round of thanks to the likes of Fat A-r-s-e Bill and even here the likes of several candidates who are winging it up in Santa Fe with their progressive/liberal agendas that are counter to NM Values. It's your party - do something rather than complain!

Very picturesque, but not of much value. Most absolutely true, we learn nothing from the past. The French were in Vietnam for 14 years before they decided it was not worth it and pulled out. Of course we French bashers said we can do it better and ended up not pulling out, but getting kicked out. We did not chicken out, we were kicked out. Now, after Russia leaving Afghanistan after 12 of frustration, we are now trying to decide if we should start our offensive in Afghanistan. The media says it is our eight year anniversary in Afghanistan. I content it is our first year in Afghanistan. True, we invaded eight years ago, but we then went into a holding pattern while we proceeded to start a war in Iraq. The war in Iraq squandered 4,000+ American lives and what, a Trillion dollars, all of which if spent in Afghanistan would indeed make this our eight year anniversary there. After those eight years we would now be assessing what, if any, progress, rather than discussing how to start actions in this new theater that has been in a holding pattern for eight years. Eight years of the Taliban and others regrouping and retrenching, losing us any ground we might have gained at the beginning of the offensive eight years ago. Imagine where Afghanistan would be now if we had concentrated our efforts there. Maybe nowhere, just like the Russians, or maybe a bit secure if we had embraced the people. Please note that I am not saying we should pull out or stay. But, what we might do is to decide to protect the Afghan people, but to try to destroy terrorists and such is to repeat previous failures in Vietnam and Afghanistan. |

>>>Tom Hutchinson and Citizens Bank should look no further to find a group to restore the Armijo-Gallagher House. They should do it themselves as a community service. <<<
That's an understatement to say the least. The caller hit the nail on the head! |

1 They are in trailor parks littered all over Las Cruces. There are quite a few on the East plains, the area that is technically not a mesa. |

Swine Flu, when one has it, are family members required to stay home or can they go to work/school? According to all circulations that have been going around, you (as a member of the family) are required to stay home until the Flu has gone away. My question is how come some family members are allowed to go to work/school when they have relatives living in the same house hold with the Swine Flu?
