Power outage affects Carl Junction, Waco areas
CARL JUNCTION, Mo. -- About 2,300 residents in the Carl Junction and Waco areas are without electricty this morning, but it should be restored by mid-morning, according to Amy Bass, spokesperson for the Empire District Electric Co.

Judge sentences man to life term in sex-abuse case
A Jasper County judge sentenced a Waco man to life in prison Monday for sexually abusing a girl starting when she was 13 years old.
