A public meeting designed to quell residents' concerns about a sand mine and processing plant proposed for the tiny community of Katemcy didn't go well, sayA residents who attended the meeting.

The building on the left is used for drying sand and the building under construction on the right is a resin coating plant where sand grains are coated with resin for use in hydraulic fracturing.

Dr. Susan B. Thomas, Executive Director of the Texoma Council of Governments , announced that the COG will be hosting a mandatory workshop for those who are interested in applying for criminal justice grants through the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division .
