Ex-Virginia City teacher gets jail term

Former Virginia City High School teacher William Allen Beeson was sentenced Friday to 12 months in the Storey County Jail, fined $2,000 and ordered to register as a sex offender for 15 years after pleading guilty in August to charges that he sexually assaulted a former student.
