Edith Louise Skoog, 79, a lifelong resident of Vinalhaven, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at the Ivan Calderwood Homestead in Vinalhaven.
Vinalhaven has its very own trap tree this year, built from lobster traps and pot buoys borrowed from local fishermen.

Fire destroys Vinalhaven home, dog lost
The cause of the fire is undetermined, said Vinalhaven Fire Chief Mac Candage. The chief said he was going to contact the state fire marshal's office for its assistance.
