John Leon was a man who lived his life focused on helping others. The retired optometrist and former mayor of Villa Grove died last week at 90.

Two Villa Grove residents were injured in a crash involving three vehicles on Interstate 74 near Oakwood on Monday afternoon.

In an effort to save on energy costs, the Villa Grove school board has approved an agreement with First Energy to provide the district with electricity for the next two years.

Nearly 2.5" of rain fell in about 4 hours as many storms moved through. Several streets were 3 feet under water and many basements were flooded.

Neighbors in Villa Grove are on the look out. There's been a rash of burglaries over the last few weeks.
