Varnville set to give mayor $31,000 raise
The Varnville Town Council voted 3-1 Monday night - with Ronald Williams opposed, Alexander Campbell and Mayor Nat Shaffer abstaining, and Henry Tuten absent - to give Mayor Shaffer a $31,000 per year raise.
SLED charges former school resource officer
The S.C. State Law Enforcement Division on Thursday released the arrest warrants for Larry Heyward, a former Hampton County deputy sheriff and school resource officer, who was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
