It would help if the people in tubes would not go totally across the river where boats have no where to go. The Landing should have rules to give them.
That would help alot. And they should have closed containers for their drinks. So if the cooler flips it won't dump in the river. More trash cans on the river would help with the trash.

I think we need a limit to the amount of tubers. They have no respect for the locals or the community anyway. Thank God they are gone during gigging season!!

I agree that motors over 115 are in excess and should be banned.

I hate to agree to ban anything, but you're right. Lakes are ok for high speed, but on the river its just asking for trouble. I still dont think the local boaters that are the ones abusing it though.

The Current River is not an appropriate river for huge motors. If you want speed and power - find a lake with a nice deep channel. The Current is ideal for canoes, jon boats, tubing, families and smaller motors. I have watched people tearing up the river and thought they might as well be on I-270 for all the enjoyment they are getting out of the Current. Speed = lake boating. Current = pristine floating river.

It's not about who can afford what, its just about having our rights taken away for the sake of a few floaters. There are way more drunk and disorderly floaters than boaters. Sometimes the boaters get fed up with the tourist hogging the river, but mostly the floaters, that only come down a few times a year think they own it all. Nothing is wrong with a 200hp motor as long as its not barreling through the stupid tourists. I prefer the 60/40hp, but i dont like being told what i have to have by a bunch of floaters.

It's a national park - they do own it all.
And, 225ef, I've only been to trailer parks to deliver the Christas baskets and your mother misses you.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Scorpio

A loved one is extremely upset today, and you'll soon know all about it. Things are out of proportion, so a minor hitch becomes a huge drama that means you've got to drop everything in order to calm them down. Hey ho. At least it won't last long. If you're doing some last-minute Christmas shopping, you won't have as much patience as usual and nor will anyone else.
