Build a local Costco store. This would save on the cost of fuel for thousands of northern California families, that now travel to Santa Rosa. It would also create local employment and tax revenues for Mendocino County.

How about something timber-related, to replace the timber-related Masonite operation. This area used to be timber-related, until such experts such as the late Judy Bari, and Daryl Cherney appeared to save us from ourselves in this county. Earth First, the Mendocino Environmental Center, and Smart Growth have their collective heads up their posteriors. Tom Hine has it right...the locals in the 60's and 70's were way too indifferent to the influx of "back to the landers". Now a lot of those people are our judges, lawyers, and politicians. This Mendocino County native feels like he's been royally shafted!

someone already wanted to use the site for a timber related plant using some of the existing building.... the county shot him down.. it would have created 1500 jobs.... humboldt invited him right up... Mendocino co doesnt want any industry.. Baileys had the dirt work done for a new warehouse and the county wouldnt give them a permit.. so they moved to woodland... geee who gets their tax revenue now??

Masionite, LP, GP, IP were allowed to over-cut our forests take the money and leave the county with huge toxic messess, lost jobs, and a ruined fishing industry. You "Native" and your shortsighted thinking (probably Indian Killing) fellow "Natives" seem to have had your collective heads up your posteriors for far too long. Take a breath of fresh air while we still have some and think about a sustainable future for all the residents of this county.

Costco and other retailers are welcome to build in the Ukiah Valley. We have land that is specifically zoned for that purpose in the Airport Park Area. The Masonite area is Zoned Industrial and should be used for that purpose.

Darn it, what happened to my idea of Hemp Theme Park, complete with super hemp rides, like The Big Spliff and the Joint-o-Whirl?
Instead of Six Flags, why not Six Bongs over Ukiah?
Of course there would have to be a Compassionate Caregiver Midway and lots of Hemp food stands.
