Monday, construction workers continued building a cinder block wall that will eventually be part of the new Walmart Express store. Coat drive for South Georgians in need begins in Valdosta

As of Friday morning, donation boxes have been set up around Valdosta to help collect coats for those in need this Winter. It's part of the South Georgia Partnership to End Homelessness's campaign to collect coats and other cold weather clothing and distribute them to those in need.

A Lowndes County woman has been arrested and her boyfriend taken to the hospital after officials said she stabbed him in the back. Lowndes County Sheriff's deputies said it happened around 2:20 a.m. Friday at a home on Camellia Drive in Valdosta.

Mystery plane ID'd: Air Force craft doing drills over Las Cruces

This aircraft, now identified as an HC-130 from Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Ga., flew Aug. 25 over Centennial High School and nearby neighborhoods in Las Cruces, and made a pass over Aggie Memorial Stadium. More than two weeks ago several Las Crucens reported a stout, gray, four-propeller plane on an apparent afternoon cruise above the Mesilla Valley.

Police have named a suspect taken into custody after a man was shot and taken to the hospital in Valdosta. According to a report, investigators said Amos Haynes, 35, was captured on Queen Street, near the scene of the shooting.
