for using my tax dollars to get you into a low cost home that will not doubt be in the later stages of decomposition in a year or so....Southern Dona Ana county at its finest.

If I have five kids that I can't afford, can I qualify for help in buying my house?

I applaud the hard work of the folks working to make their lives, and the lives of their families better. I do question however, why put the homes in Vado? Aren't there nicer places to put them - you know, places that don't smell like "Eau de Beuf (Cow)"?

I was thinking the same thing. I better get busy! I have enough years left to pump out at least five offspring and then y'all can pitch in and pay for a brand new house for me and my brood. Who's first? I'd prefer 3 different sires to produce the 5 children, no marriage minded men please (reduces my welfare benefits).

My god, you can't win around here. Somebody trying to make a better life for themselves and their kids and AGAIN people find ways to bitch and complain about it. I went through the Tierra Del Sol program about 8 years ago and I don't think you can qualify for this program while you receive welfare benefits (I could be wrong). Families in my neighborhood ALL have jobs and work hard for what they have.

As for YOUR tax money thanks, how about we start blaming all these people who live way beyond their financial means, then claim bankruptcy when they figure out they can't afford to make the monthly payments. That comes out of YOUR taxes too!!

Those classes to show the new owners what is needed for the up keep of a home are a good move to ensure repair costs don't eat up their income.

1200 square feet is very small for a family of 7. I don't stand behind the project since it rewards poor life choices.

LC Resident should really tone down the indignation and see what a HUGE and GENEROUS GIFT she/he and all the other families have received. With the school district the homes are in, lets hope having a 'place to call home' makes a difference for the kids.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Virgo

If the past few days have been a blur of cooking, washing up and wrapping paper, take a break today and catch up with loved ones. Have a long talk with one of them so you can find out what they've been doing lately, or discuss a topic that concerns both of you. Right now, you're blessed with plenty of diplomacy so the conversation should go well.
