Judge it!
I hear they charge a percentage to put money into and a percentage to take money out. That sure sounds like a due process violation and a case of taxation without representation.
Say you get arrested and they decide not to file charges against you. When you were booked you had $500.00 in cash from your paycheck that you just cashed. You're going to be charged about $50.00 for the privilege of the kiosk holding your money.
Sounds like a violation of your constitutional rights to me.

With help from new kiosks installed at the Mendocino County jail , staff no longer have to put an inmate's money in an envelope and count it two or three times.

Personally I liked the old system, where they'd take your cash and issue a check you were unable to cash because the banks were closed. It was always funny seeing a dirtbag hitchhiking North on 101 after being released because he couldn't cash his check for $1.75 and call someone for a ride. |

who cares if they tax them.....they shouldnt be in jail in the first place, waste of OUR tax payers money to give these losers a place to sleep and a warm meal....they should be charged!!! do the crime, do the time and pay a fine!
