you sure are right. i had just finally started reading the paper again over the past 6 months or so because they starting having more news in there and actual good articles instead of all pictures and articles about the writers family. now they did this and it makes me sick. im just going to let my subscription run out and not renew it.

I bought my last paper from Samantha Martin and her Trumann Democrat there is nothing about MarkedTree, Lepanto or Tyronza. If i wanted a Trumann Democrat paper i would have gone to Trumann and bought one. I always bought the Tri-City Tribune to help support our Tri-City area but no more. I guess i can buy the Osceola Times to get the same news except it is in Mississippi County, but at least i know some people over there that is in the paper. I think this is the biggest mistake that Samantha has ever made, because there will not be anything from our Tri-City in way of news or nor will we get the coverage that we have had... Samantha you have made a bad move on this one my dear. Pepole are already talking about not buying this paper......

i looked forward to reading the newspaper every week. its nice to have a home area newspaper to read about your community and whats going on. i don't have time to go through the trumman crap to find out about our area. and since they moved the newspaper office to trumann i'm sure it's going to be about trumann first. i won't be buying a trumann newspaper. i think that our area needs to have our own newspaper. maybe someone will see the need for it and we all need to support it.

I couldn't agree with you more. I always made it a point to buy a newspaper every Wednesday. It's really ashame that they have moved it to Trumann. It was nice to know what was going on in our community and the surrounding towns. I will miss getting the TriCity Tribune every week!!

The decision to make the changes was not made by Samantha Martin, the editor. It was the publisher and/or owners. It was strictly a business move with little or no consideration of the impact it would have on the Tr-City area.

I beleive the papers are owned by Rust Communications which owns a chain of almost 50 publications. They are primarily in Missouri and Arkansas but some are also in 6 other states. When Ron Kemp sold his paper in Rector to Rust, he went to work for the chain as publisher of their 5 (I think) publications in northeast Arkansas.

it is probably something that had to be done for the paper to survive, newspapers are going out of business like crazy

I feel that it should have localized in the community that made the most money, not one that is closer to the editors home. You do not see the children in Trumann or in Harrisburg out selling papers like the ones in Marked Tree. This is hurting our children as well as us. Selling newspapers was the only way some of these children would make their money and it would teach them about some business ethics that are very important for them to learn. I hope that we will get a newspaper back that will offer this to these children.

hey dumbass the editor didn't get to pick where the new office would be. the owners and publishers pick those things. she's just the editor. that's like a manager. does the manager at your job get to pick where the business is? tell me any manager that gets to pick where the business is located. use your brain for once.

I say good riddance to it. The paper has sucked ever since Boxley had anything to do with it.

Someone said they moved the office to Trumann since it's more in the middle of the county? Or maybe because it has the most people? I think we should try to give it a chance and see if there will still be a lot of Marked Tree and Lepanto news in there.

I don't think they've come out with the merged paper yet. So if you bought the Trumann paper then of course you got Trumann news.

i am sure one reason the paper went to trumann was the fact that i hear Ritter has told ever one on that side of the street to find a new place to move because they would be taking over those spaces for Ritter offices. not sure if it is true but i do see Price jewelers has a moving sign in the window.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Sagittarius

Mercury turning retrograde in your house of finances carries a rather unseasonal message, because it's telling you to pay attention to your finances over the next few weeks. If you already know that you've overspent this month, you won't need to be told that a few economies are just around the corner. Get the facts straight and pay attention to the small print. You may also have to make some adjustments to an intimate relationship so it can move into another phase.
