Tuskegee Airman goes on to become first Air Force African-American general
FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. -- A man who was shunned because of his race during his four years at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., back in the early 1930s would go on to become the first African-American general in the U.S. Air Force.
Our state has been blessed with and has produced many people of great character and influence that has extended far beyond our borders, and of that I am always proud.
