Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers say a man in a Jeep Wrangler fled during a routine traffic stop in Stringtown and drove south on highway 69/75 through Atoka and Tushka.

Each year, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma conducts its Labor Day Festival and Pow Wow at Tushka Homma.

It's been a year since Tushka residents woke up to the damage. An EF3 tornado ripped through their town the night of April 14, 2011.

Some properties have been left vacant, but pieces of the homeowners lives still liter the land.

It's been almost a year since a tornado tore through Tushka, Oklahoma. The twister killed two elderly sisters, Ava Walkup, 75, of Sherman, Texas and and Sammie Lee Dement, 80, of Tushka.
