Ray really needs to go...All he knows is how to raise taxes, doesn't give a rat about anyone but himself. For as long as he can sleep at night he doesn't care about his fellow tax payers...Greenwich has less of a tax rate then Trumbull. And their roads are in so much more better condition. When will Trumbull's madness stop? And who does he think he is except exceptional? Arrogant is what I tell you, I have never known such an arrogant man in small politics. Because of his personality he is litterally hurting each and every taxpayer in the Town of Trumbull. Also, the people he has hired to fill positions for the town leaves a lot to be desired as well...Just because someone has worked in one position for "X" amount of years and his father works in another doesn't nessassarily mean he is qualified for a "new" position. But if Ray says he is then he is, because we all know the man is perfect...Arrogance at it's finest! When is the next election? GET HIM OUT!

Don't cancel the dinner yet. Mr. Pescatore may have some good ideas about how to get an appreciation dinner for free.

What the hell Ray? The schools, the tennis courts, your fancy dinners...How about giving some of the money back to the taxpayers for have suffered all sort of problems with their cars on your roads? I am asshamed and frightened to have anyone (friends to visit) come up Daniel's Farm or Edison in fear they will blow tires, rods, struts and anything else that so many people have experienced. Do you even care? Or is it expected of us? I know you drive a town car so it may not bother you at all, because after all it is all about you...so long you are not effected right?
As far as "concerned" your comment...you hit the nail on the head...The people he hires...I assume you are talking about the Assessor? Who doesn't know ditily squat about the assessor's office...Talk about our tax dollars going up if Mr. Murray was out doing the job he is suppose to do more money would come into the town and it could help a lot. The unfortunite problem is he is another one who hasen't a clue and doesn't care. Just working to collect a pension one day and retire on the Town of Trumbull in other words...just skating by...And again at the tapayers expence.

$5000 of Trumbull taxpayer money, then I should be able to go to this dinner...otherwise they can raise the funds on their own to have their dinner.

Thank you for this story - it is a big help to the nearly broke Trumbull over-taxed payers who do NOT want Mr. Baldwin re-elected. Splendid work.

Let's not miss the big picture. We have an education budget in Trumbull that represents maybe 75% of the total budget. And the education system is a HUGE bureaucracy. It is staffed by too many very highly paid administrators and it's a money-sponge and we keep dumping more cash into it. That's where the real money is (and the real potential for savings). For some reason everyone thinks the only way to educate kids is to keep pouring more and more cash into this money-pit.

I am a republican but we need to relax a bit. As anyone that understands finance knows, you don't attack $5k line items to fix a $130M budget. I think we can have a dinner for people that volunteer for the public good.

To fix the budget, use the 80/20 rule. What needs to be done is a detailed analysis of spend and benefit in the education budget. The game of a making a large budget request and hoping to land somewhere in the middle is costing taxpayers money and can't be allowed.

Tje appreciation dinner is for all the volunteers who give of their time to answe over 3600 ems calls a years for the town. What better way to say thanx to a bunch of dedicated people...also if your not aware Trumbull EMS brings ina revenue for the town so therefore the budget is minimal. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at ems at anytimeor come on down!!

The dinner is an appreciation dinner for the volunteers to say thankyou from the towns people for 32 years of service to Trumbull...I'm sorry you feel this way..I am proud of our EMS and still enjoy doing my part to keep Trumbull safe

The amount is so small for the appreciation dinner when the EMS in Trumbull brings in a revenue. The revenue goes back to the Town General Fund...Our budget is less than the revenue that comes in....I am proud to be a part of the Emergency System in Trumbull and in my 32 years as a volunteer both Democrats and Republicans have never questioned that small amount to say "thank you " and back then there was no revenue coming in..now there is....Sorry that this has caused some of you concern.

Your "dinner", that dinner, this dinner. With all the different groups in town to say thank you, it all adds up. Times used to be you could say thank you without spending thousands.
