When his Dodge pickup was stopped by a Travelers Rest police officer around 2 a.m., Bob McCaffrey was engrossed in conversation on his cellphone.

Signups are now underway for evening classes in acoustic bluegrass instruments in Clemson, Travelers Rest, Greenville, Easley, Pickens and Walhalla that will begin on Monday, June 4. These classes are part of the Young Appalachian Music program.
