Write-in candidate faces incumbent in Tracy mayoral race
Brenda Ferguson will seek re-election as the mayor of Tracy in the coming April election.
On Thursday, Alderwoman Rita Rhoads filed as a write-in candidate for the mayoral seat. She said her late decision to run was fueled by growing concerns facing Tracy, including the city's dysfunctional water tower.
'I've been on the board for 15 years,' Rhoads said. 'We've had some problems lately and I decided to get in to try to get some things done.'
Rhoads said that residents have asked her in recent weeks to run for mayor to address the city's issues. Read more
