An Anderson County man has died while fighting a brush fire on his property. Deputy Coroner Josh Shore says 64-year-old James Alex Cefaloni of Townville and his wife and two neighbors tried to stop a brush fire near Lake Hartwell on Wednesday with buckets of water and a fire extinguisher.

Crews from the Townville and Centerville fire departments responded to the fire before 5 a.m. after neighbors reported seeing flames.

Deputies said Brittany Ramey,17, MeKinsey Shick,18, and Jamie Long, 17 are charged with lynching, assault and battery by a mob resulting in a bodily injury.
