Torrance buys land for the future

Wow, two birds with one stone. The mayor's friend Ron you know from Ron's auto body shop gets a nice sale in down times. The city gets to skirt the low income housing mandate by having another property they can develop as senior living to meet that requirement. The traffic in this area will soon be like the rest of Torrance, bad with no coordination for any lights. This also will help out another business in the area that supports the mayor and his council. You figure out who owns a couple restaurants next door to this proposed development. No one will notice all this and all involved will profit, the city will just get more crowded and the gangs east of Western will be closer to more places they can rip off..

The state mandating development needs to stop...

Didn't Scotto,Brewer, and Sutherland run on slowing development and stopping over development? Time to restart the delovoment of the mall property! Thats they ran the last mayor out of town for talking about over development. So now we see the true colors of our city council. It's ok if we are buying a friends proerty to over develop!

Mr. Scotto is a wonderful man. All his motives must be pure because he is acting on an imperative from the Mormon church to place himself in positions of influence in order to achieve the churches goals. Plus whatever crooked money he makes he does give 10% to the cult, errr church.

Just what Torrance needs more low income housing and retail space.....
Drive up and down Hawthorne Blvd or walk the Del Amo mall and you will see all the vacant places. We have tons of rentals in Torrance and they want to add more rentals?
They should make a park or open area and skip the housing.

Our kids need more room to play and get excerise. Torrance needs to buy land that they can build a sports park on. We need football, baseball and soccer fields in Torrance. It's a win win situation. Our kids don't have to travel out of the area to play sport or play on run down fields and the city can have an income producing property for years to come.

Stupid Torrance. They had an elementary school at Anza and Merrill that they sold off about 20 years ago and now that baseball and soccer fields is full of houses. They spend that money and now they need to buy more land? Idiots.
