The voters in Tonganoxie, Kan. have legalized liquor sales on Sundays. KMBC's Marcus Moore reported that this previous Sunday was the first time in years shoppers could buy liquor in the small town.

Tonganoxie residents will soon be able to buy retail liquor on Sundays and some holidays.

Tonganoxie residents Tuesday voted to allow Sunday liquor sales in their city.Unofficial results showed that 250 people voted for the measure and 132 voted against it, said Leavenworth County Election Officer Janet Klasinski.Liquor now can be sold in Tonganoxie between noon and 8 p.m. on all Sundays except Easter.

A special election in Tonganoxie on Tuesday will determine if buying alcohol on Sundays and holidays should be legal in the town.
