This link, dated January 2009, shows the breakdown of the stimulus package, including direct tax cuts to working families. Kentucky gets between 5 and 10 billion dollars as of the above date. California and New York get over 10 billion dollars.

http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2009/0...

Here is a link to an article as to which states have gained the most jobs due to stimulus money.

http://www.truthout.org/1031094

I have yet to find a more current state by state tally of where stimulus money is going or how much each state is getting or has gotten. If anybody knows of a site that states the current status, please link it to here. I'm rather curious.

6 of those states including the top 2 are usually blue states and you do realize that both republicans and democrates live in all of these states right? Just because a state has a lot of people drawing welfair does not mean its republicans doing it.

dude, i simply asked what do you think would be the best possible solution to this matter and you couldn't help yourself but to be sarcastic, that's my main problem with the right wing, they never have any solutions themselves, but always know what's not going to work. BUT WHAT IS THEN,BE CREATIVE?

OhMyGoodness, I know that your post wasn't directed at me, but if I may...

Right now, I don't think anyone has the answers to the problems we have here in the US.

I do think that outsourcing and sending manufacturing jobs overseas has had a big impact on the nation's tax base. It seems that as early as the 1970's, major manufacturing firms found a loop hole in the tax laws that allowed them to send jobs overseas and not pay a large part of US income taxes. I'm not exactly sure where I read that, but I'll look it up if you want. Since NAFTA was signed by "DADDY" Bush, manufacturing has mostly gone overseas and south of the border. I'm not talking about Mexico, though some have gone there. I'm talking about Honduras, El Salvador, Brazil, and Argentina to name a few. This action by both the government and the manufacturing firms has left the United States as a consumer/service country. There are just so many 'services' that hire and you can't be a consumer if you don't have money.

When those jobs left the country, our tax revenues fell sharply. Where is the money going to come from now? I don't know and I guess Washington doesn't either. We better get it fixed soon, or I'm afraid of what will happen. Needless to say, I'm concerned.

Thanks, I stand corrected.

One thing we could do is stop spending billions fighting people that think we are infidels. We fight a loosing battle and pride, or stubbornness, keeps us in it.
If your headquartered in America and your a manufacturer with most of your operations overseas then a tax or something should be levied against you.
