I invite you to go to the following site to see how much these illegals are costing us.

http://www.immigrationcounters.com/

No matter how you slice it, they are illegal (that means 'being here against the laws of our land'). I have no qualms about legal immigrants. Legal immigrants have made this country what it is. But to start off on the wrong foot, disobeying our laws is not the way to go.

A good point. Then when the very last decent paying jobs left here in America are taken by illegals, we can all pack up move on down to Mexico and party hearty while flaunting all their emmigration laws as well.

Mr. Gregg shows the true insight that our political and social leaders need to continue utilizing if we are to maintain our economic decline into recession.

Any nation that doesn't control its border and who comes and goes will soon lose its soverignity and eventually its cultural soul. The writer says these illegals do jobs that Americans won't do. Well 20 years ago before we had this illegal alien fiasco I ate apples picked by someone other than a Mexican, lived in a dry home when it rained built by John Q Citizen, someone cut my grass who spoke just like me and I didn't have to press one to do business in English.

So where the writer sees benefits I see a high demand for public services, hospitals going out of business because non-payment for services, over crowded schools where entire classes are taught in Spanish, people driving without insurance, crime rate soaring etc. Society is paying a high price as it struggles to maintain the infrastructure and worker's salaries trend to remain stagnant. It's folly to conclude otherwise unless you are brain dead or you benefit from cheap illegal labor while letting society pick up your unpaid bills for services rendered.

Before you call me a racist or xenophobe my mother and my spouse were legal immigrants who applied, waited their turn, lived by the rules and became productive non-subsidized English speaking American citizens. And they refuse to become hyphenated progressive liberals who enjoy the good life while trashing the country that gave them opportunity and security.

This letter is an insult to every American citizen who lost their job due to globalism and the influx of cheap, illegal labor. It is also insulting to all of our young people who don't have the money to go to college and need entry-level jobs to get started in life.

I don't know of any job that Americans are "too good to do" and "don't want". When all those illegal aliens marched on Capitol Hill last year, the economy hardly shut down. That's because American citizens were flipping burgers, mowing lawns, picking crops and doing all sorts of jobs that allegedly, only illegals will do.

Immigration is good but illegal immigration is not. Illegal immigration does indeed take jobs from American citizens. Illegal immigration rewards corrupt employers who pay cash-under-the-table and write it off on their taxes. About 40% of the illegal aliens in our country work for cash-under-the-table; the rest use false or stolen social security numbers. These illegals pay very little (if anything) in taxes yet receive generous taxpayer-funded benefits like emergency room healthcare, public education and law enforcement.

Illegal immigration is not good for this country. It contradicts our rules of law, rewards lawbreakers, hurts American citizens and spits in the face of everyone trying to come here legally. This is one of the biggest issues facing grassroots voters. Those politicians who want to seek office in 2008 better not forget the day recently when we shut down the Senate switchboard with our calls opposed to amnesty.

This article and whomever condones it is a pure IDIOT! Another example where liberalism has eroded our ability to use common sense as we always used to rely upon and taught our children years before.

ILLEGAL means "ILLEGAL", and to try to paint any other side to it is a waste of time. If what the writer and their supporters purport, then none of us living in this nation need to obey any law ourselves if we do not like the law, right??

This is exactly what this says to me and I cannot belive the $Billions annually we spend to support this illegal activity, not counting the $Billions more lost out of this nation in form of illegal slave worker networks and other activities where "someone" on the top of a pyramid of Chinese Walls is financially benefitting from it!

This in itself should be deemed a danger to our national security for one thing.

If you cannot come into ANY nation legally and by their rules of immigration, you have NO business expecting compassion, care, support or help from its government or citizens to do so in an illegal manner. NO OTHER nation on earth tolerates this behavior, and one reason the USA today, is the laughing stock of the world for all of the declining state of affairs we are going through, which a major one is the impact from illegal aliens coming into this nation. It breeds more criminals. It breeds more disease and sickness which we have no vaccines for. It breeds uncontrolled population growth demands which affects our ability to raise crops and food products in a timely fashion. It breeds demoralizing effects on a nation and its supposed standards. IT IS JUST PLAIN WRONG!

Out of my 4 daughters, 2 of them picked apples while they were in college. In the process, they literally met a couple thousand other college students from all corners of the world which has created unique bonds and lifelong relationships for them. They did this over 6 years back. As a parent, I could enjoy their work and monitor their activities through a website service called GetJealous.com . Here they maintained their diary, itinerary, travel map, posts, and online communications. What is amazing is that they were working on farms with college students from all around the world. Obviously, they weren't working in western NC, nor were they affiliated with any organization such as the Pearce Corps. This farm work by the college students was done in New Zealand.

To QUALIFY for the farm work, the students had to meet certain minimum criteria. They had to be properly documented, be properly vaccinated, show proof of round trip transportation in and out of the country (the students pay for heavily discounted air fare), had to show proof of extended health insurance, and a variety of other sensible legal requirements. Much of the arrangements were made through a travel agency that specialized in bringing students from all corners of the world.(Starting to sound like a capitalist plan.) The students traveled together around the countryside getting to sight-see, meet and greet, and most importantly... they worked and got paid. Both of my daughters are proud of what that did and consider the experience a high achievement in their lives. As a side note, one of my daughters met her future husband in New Zealand. He was from Vale, Colorado, and was working as a table buster/dish washer at a New Zealand restaurant.

From everything that I have seen or researched, New Zealand has combine capitalism and progressive ideas to address the needs of their agriculture economy by creating and using win-win policies for the benefit of all.

Amazingly, for several years now, all we have done with the ILLEGAL ALIEN issue (and most other national issues), is debate how we are going to make chicken salad out of chicken s***... and now the stench is starting to overwhelm all of us.
As Lou Dobbs would say, I've had a belly full of the socioenthnocentric activists that are ramming this country straight to the gates of doom!

www.reportillegals.com

Use this site and report anyone you know is illegally in the USA. I have used it and continue to do so and is one of the only sites I know that seriously does what it says it will do- but caution, when you read the statistics they supply regarding illegals, it will make you sick!

North Carolina has one of the highest concentrations nationally of illegals (mainly Mexican & Hmong), and many corrupt employers still willing to use them instead of hiring a legal citizen because these illegal groups of people network between themselves (clans as they call them) and stay below the radar..

The letter writer has a fallacy in their agruments in jumping between how illegal immigrants drive the cost of daycare down. Are they babysitting American children for pennies on the dollar or something? How are they keeping child care costs down?

Let them take their corrupt culture back to whence it came.
