Tewksbury must rein in spending, committee urges

With the national economic downturn weighing heavily on its mind, the Townwide Budget Subcommittee has recommended that Tewksbury institute several measures to further control its spending this fiscal year.

Hmmmm.... not hiring 'non-essential personnel'... what a unique concept. Don't you think they should hire only people that are needed anyways? Isn't this what gets them into trouble anyways? Thinking the money will never run out. So now is everyone happy that the town threw another 30K or so to retain a superintendent that didn't foresee any of this happening - maybe because she was off interviewing or maybe because she did see it coming....god forbid that you say bye bye and pay a fair price for a good job. Students fleeing HS, no money for personnel, ever think it may not be a funding issue but a management of funds issue?

They needed a committee to determine this? I thought the failure of the override already gave them this conclusion. This isn't rocket science.
