An 11-year-old boy living in the Redmond-Terrebonne area has contracted the first case of the new H1N1 Influenza A virus, or swine flu, in Deschutes County, health officials have confirmed.

A man charged with neglecting his paralyzed wife left her lying on a love seat in their Terrebonne home for as long as two months without medical care and failed to bathe her or take her to the bathroom, according to documents filed in Deschutes County Circuit Court.
He was hit by a car at 9:00 a.m. while flagging at a road construction site on Lower Bridge Way and 31st in Terrebonne.
