MARIEMONT - After 14 months of study, community meetings and surveys, the Mariemont School Board on Tuesday unanimously approved a facilities recommendation that will change the face of Mariemont schools.

The estate of a dead woman sued a Terrace Park couple, saying the couple should be held responsible for removing their deck and not telling Sara Marker, who died when she stepped out to what she believed would be a deck but instead fell to her death.

Cortney Scheeser wants five buildings in the Mariemont City School District. "Even though it's a little more expensive, I think it keeps community schools as a central pillar of how we educate our kids here in the district," said Scheeser, who has three daughters at Mariemont Elementary School.
