The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested two people for allegedly bribing voters during an election in a local mayoral race.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested two men on Thursday who have been under investigation by the TBI, at the request of the 10th Judicial District Attorney General, since September, 2011, for bribing voters during a Tellico Plains election.

Chuck Hunt, 54, of Tellico Plains, was indicted by the Monroe County Grand Jury on eight counts of bribery of a voter and eight counts of conspiracy to bribe a voter.

At 9:39 p.m., Chattanooga Police officers responded to 900 Dodson Ave. They located the victim, 59-year-old John Chapple, in the 2200 block of Rawlings Street .

The Library Board will be asking the County Commission for approval to move the library from the Courthouse to what is currently home to the Benton Family Health Care Center.

Despite a low attendance, the City of Tellico Plains presented information on the Community Development Block Grant in a public hearing Thursday afternoon.

The former Tellico Plains Police Chief spent thousands of dollars without keeping records of how the money was spent, according to a state audit.

Danny Pace, 55, of 168 Toomey Lane, has been charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder following the Friday night incident at a Tellico Plains home, according to court documents.
