SoCal Guards Stabbed; All CA Prisons Locked Down

California corrections officials say two inmates stabbed three guards at a prison in Tehachapi and all state prisons have been locked down as a precaution.

Department of Corrections spokeswoman Terry Thornton said two sergeants and an officer were stabbed Thursday and were in stable condition at local hospitals.

Thornton says the two inmates are affiliated with Southern California prison gangs.

State prisons will stay locked down until corrections staff can determine that the stabbing was an isolated incident. Read more
