Nature path plan would link Easton area trails
The Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor has teamed up with a Bethlehem engineering firm to propose a 32-mile system of trails that would run from the Delaware River in Easton to the Appalachian Trail in Plainfield Township.
The plan would connect existing trails in Easton, Wilson, Tatamy and Stockertown with ones in Forks, Palmer, Bushkill and Plainfield townships.
''I believe this will happen,'' said Phil Hunsberger, a landscape architect for Urban Research & Development Corp., the engineering firm working on the project, who added that it could be decades before the trail system is complete.
