A 17-month odyssey for painting and repairing the city of Treasure Island's causeway bridges came to a close Aug. 19 when city commissioners awarded an $838,999 contract to Sanford-based Wharton-Smith.
Tourism is up for the first half of 2014, according to a report from Research Data Services, presented by President and CEO Walter Klages to the Pinellas County Tourist Development Council Aug. 20.
