South Tama Rec Trail clean up is completed
Jake Jacobson, president of the South Tama Recreation Trail Board, reports another successful clean up of portions of the six-mile-long route by volunteers on Saturday, May 5. The trail is popular with walking, jogging and bicycling enthusiasts and runs from West Ross in Toledo to the Iowa River at the south edge of Tama.

Tree trimming scam in Tama nets suspended prison time
A tree trimming scam which occurred in Tama resulted in a two-year suspended prison term for a Maxwell, Iowa, man in Tama County District Court in Toledo on May 9. Eddy Lee Mason, 52, pled guilty to 3rd degree theft.
Call for improvements for G Avenue in Highland Township

Tama, Toledo fire departments, ambulance services search for missing elderly man
9:30 p.m.- Firefighters and ambulance personnel from Tama and Toledo joined Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police and the Tama County Sheriff's Office in the search for a missing 80-year-old man who is believed to have walked or wandered away from a home in the 200 block of West Quail Road on the Meskwaki Settlement Monday evening.
