Hamilton City Council chief executive Barry Harris has pocketed a $7200 pay hike a figure one councillor described as austere and "politically acceptable". Councillors this week voted 9-4 in favour of giving Mr Harris a 2 per cent pay rise, taking his wage from $360,000 to $367,200 a year.
