A slow week in between fall and summer leagues gave a senior bowler a chance to get into the high game and series action.

Tell me, gentle readers, who doesn't like summertime? As we get older most likely it doesn't mean as much to us as when we were in school and thinking about all the fun things we would get to enjoy in those three special months we had away from our studies.

Tripas, hamburgers and sausage wraps mixed with souped-up Cadillacs, Packards and Chevrolets helped attract a crowd of thousands celebrating Cinco de Mayo Saturday at the Panhandle-South Plains Fairgrounds.
