Mayor of Sulphur Springs fires police chief after less than 4 months on the job

When you have a mayor that is not the mayor but his wife thinks she is. The city has been so messed up for years, it is going to take more then 4 month to fix it. James Walls was doing the best he could with what he had, a messed up city and all it problems, and some crazy city officals.

Gardener is right it will take more than 4 months to fix but Sulphur Springs is worth fixing. The current mayor is the best thing that has happened around here in years. Trashed out houses and junk cars are gone, the less than desirable population is dwindling, the sewer plant issues is getting resolved and relationships with the County, State and Federal governments are positively improving.

The last Police Chief was highly recommended but turned out to be nothing more than horeshit and gun smoke. I appreciate having a Mayor who (by the way makes $5 per month) has the nuts to make a difference so people such as gardener here can sit in his house doing nothing but lobbing rocks over the wall. Thank you Mr. Mayor!

first, i do not sit in my house all day, i work a 40 hr plus job,and i am a she, thank-you i have lived in the area for 20 yrs and have seen this town go from good to bad and back over the yrs, this Mayor has done NOTHING for this town , broke down pickups still in front yards with flat tires and trash in the beds,(three in town right now) for a year or better, the same house's with grass knee high and have been that way all summer, the police chief write and issues the tickets but the city has to inforce the tickets by the laws in the city code. i have brought 2 homes in Sulphur Springs and have fix both up from dumps, so i know this town is fixable and it will take more than the mayor to fix it, James Walls is that person to help with that job.!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry. Whoever thought Walls was the answer for this town probably thought Andrew Little was the answer for this town as well. James Walls did not have a clue what he was doing and it showed from the first day he took office. He lied about his past to pursuade the city council to hire him. He was scared to make drug arrest and that showed after he left and Zeb Rone made 12 his first month. It is ashame he was ever appointed to this city because Chief Rone is still fixing his screwups and the previous chiefs for the past ten years.The mayor has done more for this town in the short time he has been in office than anyone in the past several years. Sulphur Springs is a city with a future and Mayor Simon and Chief Rone are fastly taking the city there.

You know there are five sulphur springs towns in arkansas . which sulphur springs do these posts apply to ?
The one I know will never get anywhere because people from California , Pennsylvania, Illinoise think big city ordinances should apply to a tiny little arkansas spot . The ordinances they want to be enforced will only stiffel the town and keep it tiny because the city can't breath , it cant get any oxygen .In other words its smothering and it will never grow any bigger than right now !
The people who enforce these laws get a feeling of big power while smothering the populace .
Its just a one horse , pass through , bump in the road to somewhere else ! And that you can take to the bank because thats all it will ever be ! The yankees from up north and out west will keep you down and out and humble . The town was at its peek in population and opportunity around 1910 to 1920 and its gone down hill from there !
