Im am so sorry to hear about my favorite 2nd grade teachers passing. I have such great memories of Mrs. Aucella. Her magic tricks that she used to do with her magic red velvet wand in class. She felt so bad because she wanted me in her choir but didn't have the heart to tell me how horrible my singing voice was. The last time I saw her was at my mom's memorial in Sherman Oaks and watching her peel out of the driveway in her huge blue Cadillac! She was still a ball of fire at the age of 87. She was at my side when I was in Northridge hospital after a very bad accident in 1977. She comes up in family conversations quite often on a regular basis and is always remembered fondly. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
I was surprised that the biggest and probably the happiest part of her life, teaching, was not mentioned in the article on her life.
Please forward me any further information on Lucy.
Sincerely,
Kevin Kary
