Tony, the new Owner of the Stryker Glass Bar comes to us from MI. He has had training in the Culinary Arts and is one of the best cooks around the Tri-State area. He specializes in Italian and American cuisine as well as the All-American breakfasts. Let's all support Tony in his new venture of the Fine Dining he will be offering NW Ohio.

Families Coping: Illness, layoff impede efforts to save farm
When last we checked in with the Coys of Williams County, they'd begun planting -- not only this year's crop, but seeds of hope that they'd be able to save the family farm that had gone into bankruptcy protection.

Evansport prepares for 175th anniversary
Plans for Evansport's 175th anniversary in 2010 are beginning to take shape, the Evansport Terquasquicentennial Committee learned at its meeting at the Tiffin Township Fire Station this month.

Kate Frank benefit scheduled
Herman and Kate (Barnum) Frank are facing
fi nancial diffi culty as a result of Kate’s ongoing
health problems, numerous surgeries and recently
a liver transplant.
A benefi t Hog Roast on Saturday, April 4 from
4:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Stryker American Legion
has been set to help. This is open to the public.
The menu will consist of: Roast Pork Sandwiches,
Scalloped Potatoes, Baked Beans, Dessert, Coffee
and Lemonade. Entertainment will follow the meal
provided by Doug Fiely as well as a cash raffl e and
50/50 drawings. Snacks and other beverages will
be available after 8:00 p.m. Carry-out meals will
be available at Shorts Hardware. A parking shuttle
service from the Springfi eld Park, Stryker Elevator
and the Stryker School is also available.
A Pool Tournament at East End Billards will be
Saturday, March 28th. Sign up for the Scott Double
tournament will begin at 12:00 noon. Fifty Fifty
Drawing will be conducted at a Band will play starting

Stryker Steering Committee hosts January 2009 meeting,
On Jan. 22, the third Thursday of the month, at their regular meeting time, the Stryker Steering Committee came together at The Depot. Present were Rick Wytick representing the Legion, Jason Baltosser for the Economic Development Committee, J.R. Trease for the police dept., Gary St. John for the Village and moderator Kent Juillard. Jason reported that Eric Short, who is also the new Village Council president, has been selected by the Chamber of Commerce to serve on the Economic Development Board with Tim Johnson and Jason Baltosser.

CCNO gives $3,939 to St. Jude Research Hospital
STRYKER – The staff at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio recently gave a belated Christmas present in the amount of $3,929 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital following a special fund raising project. It was the 13th year for CCNO staff to donate funds to a local charity.
Staff donated handmade craft items while area businesses donated numerous products and gift
certifi cates that were raffl ed off during the annual employee Christmas potluck held in December.
Additional fund raising events also generated staff donations. Pictured, left to right, are:
