Give it up and give it a rest and let the families involved deal with this tragedy in their own way and own time. Have some respect.......

Wood-for the record it's not a tex-it's a text. How often do you look down at your radio to adjust it? How often do you look down to adjust your heater? Glancing down to see who the text was from takes no more time than it does to do either of those 2 things. He wasn't sitting in the car sending a text-he was just looking to see who it was from. Let's let this all drop and move on-for the sake of the familes both envolved. Please, MOVE ON!

Move on-for the record, it's not envolved it's involved. If you're going to correct people for spelling on a discussion like this, at least get your spelling correct!

TEXTING WHILE DRIVING: Any person 21 years of age or younger who operates a moving motor vehicle while sending, reading, or writing a text or electronic message by means of a hand-held electronic wireless communications device will be guilty of an infraction (Section 304.820 RSMo.).

OK, my final attempt to hopefully correct the rumors and end the gossip regarding this incident, because I know the media will not take the time to undo the damage that has been done and tell the story correctly. Until we obtained phone records, my son honestly did not know what had caused his phone to vibrate. All texts sent or received were well before the accidednt. Someone had attempted to call him but the call was never received because the phone broke apart in the collision. To the best of my knowledge and research, that is not a violation of the above-referenced law. And that is why you should not believe everything you read or hear. If you want the truth and it really matters that much to you, go to the source. Otherwise, you really should keep your mouth shut. I have told everyone from the beginning that Trenton had no reason to lie about this; he didn't even know the new law existed and besides, he is not that type of person. And if you would have been there you wouldn't dare speculate that my son had been careless, under the influence or lacking in remorse. I have ridden with him many times. He always wears his seat belt and is one of the most cautious drivers I know. It has been very disheartening that people that had shown concern immediately after the accident, changed their attitudes and judged him when the charges were filed. As I have stated in my other posts, Trenton is doing as well as he can and he is ready to pay his debt to society. If our prosecuting attorney was intending to make an example out of someone regarding the new law, then his job was well done. I hope this ends the discussion on this topic and people will move on to other things to talk about. Thank you.
Time to go on

Elizabeth I think any parent would defend their own child that is what we should do. I believe Trenton should just pay his fees and try to live a normal life. I am very glad these were all he was charged with and that Opie did not try to go after him for anything else.
We should all please keep praying for the Bauer family, they are wonderful people and if they have found the ability to forgive then why should any of you not.

I know Trenton, I use to go to school with him. My little brother and him are friends. My best friend dated him for a while. I am proud to say Trenton is my friend and would never hurt someone on purpose. He is a strong, resposible, independent person. He made a mistake, and I'm sure he is deeply sorry for what happened. I belive we just need to let this go and allow everyone to heal. Dont judge Trenton for what happened, it could happen to you!

If everyone posting here would be truthful-- you have all made calls, recieved calls, ate while driving, combed you hair, swatted a fly---- any of a million things we do on a daily basis that takes our attention from our driving. Unfortunately, this tragic accident could have happened to any of us-- This poor young man will relive this for the rest of his life and it will impact everything he does and how he does it from this time forward. Stop and think, how would you feel and react if this was one of your kids, your spouse, your mom or dad-- Remember it can happen at any time. If this type of thing makes you mad-- then make sure you don't fall prey to those human frailties that we all are subject to. Wear your seatbelt, don't use the phone while driving, don't adjust the radio, heater or AC, don't correct the kids, adjust the mirror, your hair-- and don't be in such a hurry!

It is not for us to judge what did or did not happen. Like I said....Give it a rest and have some respect. This boy did not set out to have an accident that day. It sounds like the Bauer family had forgiven him......GET OVER IT!

I agree with those who say to slow down, everyone is in such a hurry to get on with life. Now there is one person dead and a young man whose life is changed forever. I would like to offer a pray or show support for the families.

I am new to Stover but have lived 57 yrs. When I was younger and I used to adjust my radio until one day I was doing that and ran into a tree. Glad it was not another person, but learned my lesson and have a scar on my forehead to remind me. So no I do not adjust anything and I do not have a cell phone. So just for your own info not everyone does these things while driving.

I think Trenton is a great person. Who wouldn't be distracted by a vibration in the pocket? I would. Point being, nothing was more important to him then a life, he enjoys life and wouldn't ever try and take something away from another person like that. He's amazing and I do agree, the Bauer's want him to live and be amazing, everyone else should wish the same

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Sagittarius

There's work to be done. Even though it might seem overwhelming, there's a lot to be gained from doing Level One, or routine physical tasks. When your body is preoccupied and very little mental input is required, your mind is free to roam. Do one thing at a time, and you're assured of complete success in all your projects and undertakings today. Your health is not as good as it could be, at the moment. Consider a cleansing diet.
