Chit Chat was nice last week. There was a small turnout, but the food and the company is always good.

Debbie Blake resigned as the district superintentent on Monday, more than a month before her one-year contract was up.

The crowd at the Corning Jr. Rodeo Mixer went wild Thursday evening when they learned a local gal, 15-year-old Kaylee Loewen, had won the crown during the rodeo's royalty competition.

Well, rodeo weekend was a great success. Thanks to all of you who supported our events.

John Charles Rivera , 20, of Vandenberg Air Force Base, was arrested at 1:38 a.m. May 6 by Williams police on the 400 block of Ninth Street, on suspicion of driving while under the influence.

Linda Pinneo, 70, of Stonyford, died April 25, 2012 in Chico. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, 114 N. Shasta St., Willows.
