A proposed 125-foot AT&T communications tower on Mountain Road that developers say would improve cell phone service in the area received mixed reviews at a public hearing before the Planning Board on Tuesday night.

New Hampshire State Police said they have identified the driver of a truck that lost a 2,000-pound beam in Stoddard on Thursday, causing a three-car crash on Route 9. Police said the driver works for Zanco Express out of Lebanon, Tenn., and was driving to Contoocook when the beam fell off.
