With new exhibits, Atlas Cement Museum to begin its 12th season in Northampton

A working, century-old model railroad car that unloads cement dust is one of several rare historic items going on display this month at Northampton's Atlas Cement Memorial Museum.

The museum, in the borough's municipal building at 1401 Laubach Ave., will open for its 12th season Sunday afternoon.

The model was built by Hercules Cement of Stockertown to help the company patent its process of unloading cement off bulk railroad cars, according to a news release. Read more

Instead, Northampton County Judge Stephen G. Baratta imposed a county prison term of five years of probation and 11-22 months in the county prison. Read more
